strike!

This weekend turned out to be A LOT of fun! I had a blast. Friday night, went to Michael's (craft store) to get some more yarn to finish off the hat I was knitting for my dear friend Morgggan (she doesn't really have 3 g's in her name, that is just my exaggeration!). Anyhow, that was fun in its own little way I guess.

Saturday my dad and I went downtown Minneapolis and walked through the stores and such. Then we ate at Chipotle!!! That was delicious, as always. After that, we returned home for a while and then went off to Dakota Premium Foods' Christmas Party. That was pretty fun. I enjoy watching the people mostly, plus its fun to hang out with some of them! My dad won a flashlight thing, while I won a huge "mechanic's tool set" (it is SUPER nice, but like I really know how to use most of it?!?!). It was nice anyhow. I spiral curled my hair, so I snapped a couple of pictures, just to see myself. hahahahaha. They are here:

I think it turned out really nice.
Well, then today my dad and I went bowling at Treasure Island. It is a new alley they put in with the remodeling they did a couple months ago. It is pretty awesome, and we had a ton of fun, even though I couldn't break 100 in any of the 4 games we played!!! Bowling is definitely something I enjoy A LOT but am no good at, just like pool. Oh well.
On a maybe not so fun subject, work is going to be CrAZy this week!!!!! Tomorrow is going to be a long day with a huuuge amount of packages. I am pretty nervous. Another thing I am nervous about is going full time this week! Can't wait for the checks though :).
And Desperate Housewives is now starting so I must go! But enjoy this next picture of my boyfriend and my nephew taken back in July. I really love it!

santa's got a brand new bag

Wow, my blogging seems to be slipping! Haven't posted one in a while, I don't have a good reason, but then again nothing real exciting has happened for me to write about anyway! Nonetheless, here I am now, writing my life away.

Yesterday was Thanksgiving and I really enjoyed it. I LOVE Thanksgiving food! It is so delicious. Plus I loved having a day off from work! That is always appreciated. Too bad they don't make Black Friday a Holiday and give us that too! (Although I never really want to go shopping that day, it should still be a Holiday.) I really would never want to fight those crowds, people are so crazy! It is just NOT worth it to me at all.

On another subject, the weather is still fairly decent for November! No snow anyway! I am glad about that. Lately its been in the 30s, today's high was 40, so that is awesome! I just hate the negatives, those are THE WORST.

Moving along, last weekend was the Iowa vs Minnesota game, and let's just say Iowa KILLED it!! I cannot believe it. (They won 55-0!!!) One thing that was really annoying though, was out on the street people from Iowa were arguing with the scalpers that what they were doing was illegal. It totally isn't here. I just cannot stand when people who don't really know what they are talking about argue or make a statement contrary to what is true. Oh well! Not enough time in the world to go into it, or enough reason to now either.

Well something else I am pretty proud of, is how I learned to cut out snowman shaped snowflakes. I think they look great! They aren't really hard at all actually and are pretty fun! More fun than just regular old cut out snowflakes if you ask me!!

And I think that's enough of my nonsense. Hopefully I will update more often. I get sad when I don't write things down for others to read. Hahaha. Well I don't really get sad, but close. Welp, see ya! :)

don't mind if I do

Friday, November 14th 2008, I chopped my hair off and got a whole new hairdo! So, I figured a picture blog about it would be PERFECT! Enjoy!!

This is me acting normal?
I don't think I was ready for this one, but it turned out pretty.

This is for the side view! (the best side anyway!) haha.
As much as I hate people who take pictures in bathrooms, I just LOVE my shower curtain. I think it makes a good backdrop most of the time.
Anyhow, I think the pictures turned out pretty well, but then you consider the subject matter and it becomes obvious as to why that is the case. hahahahahaha! yeah right. But on a more serious note, I really love my new hairCUTe! I have received a lot of compliments on it. Mainly from the mirror. hahah there I go kidding once again. Really a lot of people, real people, have told me it looks great and they like it. I really love it, so what more can a person ask for? Nothing as far as I am concerned. It was a spur of the moment decision, one I am so happy I made.
On a complete new subject, there is this show on right now about the shooting of JFK and there is a crazy lady talking. She was talking about the day it happened and how she found out. Her statement that got me was when somebody was telling her the name of the killer, they said "Lee Haaaa....." and the lady cuts out, (I thought she was having a seisure or something), but then she says "and I knew the rest." Odd.
I think I have a big nose. Sometimes I feel I do, sometimes I feel I don't. If you think I do, don't be afraid to point it out, because I really want to know if I do or not, in comparison to the general public. Maybe I do, but maybe it fits my face? I don't really know. Oh well. I never got teased about it when I was younger or any other time that I know of, so I guess I probably don't. It gets hit a lot by boxes at FedEx though, so maybe I do. hmmm. The question will go unanswered as of right now.
I think that's enough rambling on for now. Until another day... :)

abrupt

Well I cannot believe it! I just got my hair chopped off today, 6 inches of it! It was a random, spur of the moment decision. I don't regret it one bit (yet) and I totally love it. I am really glad I just went ahead and did it. I feel a lot better.

Other than that, I really enjoyed the country music awards on Wednesday night. Carrie Underwood and all of her beautiful dress looked great, Brad Paisley was hilarious, and all the performances were pretty dang good. Anyhow, it really makes me want to be a country star. I love most of them. They don't seem like the other music genre stars, they just seem like they would be fun people to hang out with and have great conversations with as well. Anyhow, I was reading Taylor Swift's MySpace Blog, I decided its great. I liked reading it, although it made me feel like my blog is so lame. It may or may not be in reality, but I feel that way in comparison to hers.

Another thing I really want to do is write a great song. I just might get down to business on that one, and if I do, it will be posted all over this blog for sure! I don't know, all I can do is try, but I can't make any promises.

Well, I think this one will just end here. :)

cinema

It sure has been awhile, the good news is, there really hasn't been many exciting events that I have not updated you on. Most of my life is pretty boring, I just like to take all of those boring little stories and turn them into some sort of lifechanging story that everyone must hear about. I am fully aware that I do this, and I am sure anyone who has heard me talk or that knows me at all, knows this. Good.

Since we have that covered, I went down to Iowa this past weekend. That was a lot of fun. I got a devil of a deal and a little Coach purse that I just really am in love with now. It really is the simple things in life. haha. Also, I love going to dinner with Sam, so that made for a really good time this weekend. We also went to Cold Stone twice, which is always a delight. I also watched A LOT of movies this weekend. On that note, I will now review them all for you.

First I watched We Own the Night. This movie was really good and I enjoyed it a lot. Its not a typical movie that I would find myself watching, but it was way good. The next one I watched was Dan in Real Life. This movie was alright, but not one of my top faves. I just really didn't like how mean his family seemed to be to him. Also, I expected to laugh a lot more, obviously, since its Steve Carell, my favorite. The next movie I watched was National Treasure 2, I really liked this movie. I also really liked the first one, if you liked the first you will probably like this one as well. I think the lady in those movies (Diane Kruger) is really pretty. So, the next movie was Enchanted. Now this movie, its more for little kids for sure. I thought it was OK, but I wouldn't go out and buy it. It had a couple of funny things about it, a real cute story, and it was nice, but no thanks. Alright, the next movie I watched was Baby Mama. This movie, I LOVED. I thought it was so hilarious in so many ways, I really liked it. The next movie was Drillbit Taylor. I don't know about this movie, it was not the best but it wasn't the total worst. I thought there were a couple of funny parts, but overall it could have been way better. And the final movie I watched was Juno. This movie was very interesting, there were some funny things about it. I liked it, but it wasn't really what I expected out of it. It was also kind of creepy for me, only because the girl in the movie looks a heck of a lot like my younger sister. Sam and I both kept getting freaked out by that throughout the movie. But, I did like that it took place in Minnesota (at least I'm pretty sure it did!).

Well, now you can really see how many stinkin movies I really watched this weekend. I love watching movies. I prefer watching them to just watching tv shows.

On a whole new subject, I really have a sore nose right now. I got hit right in the nose by TWO boxes at work today, now it is throbbing. I hate getting hit in the nose, especially when it causes my eyes to water. Oh well, I am sure I will get over it soon.

I don't really have any other news, except that the Country Music Awards are on tonight and I am probably going full time at FedEx. Both exciting bits of info, last but not least type of news. And until next time....... :)

me me me

So this post, I want to do a fun little thing like an "about me!!!" I hope you love it, just as much as I will love writing it.

My Name is Julie.
I was born in Denver, Colorado.
My Birthday is on January 9th and it's probably my favorite day of the year.
My favorite movie is Walk the Line. But I also love a lot of others that are all tied for a verrry close second. Some of those are: Mean Girls, Meet the Robinsons, Anchorman, all of the Pirates of the Carribbean, and so on.
My favorite actress is definitely Reese Witherspoon. As for actors, I really like Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell.
My favorite television shows are Number one is The Office, Boston Legal and Chelsea Lately are tied at second, and Desperate Housewives is third.
My favorite place to visit is Las Vegas, but one of my favorite vacations was in Hawaii when I was there for about a month.
I have 2 sisters and one brother. One of my sisters is older and married to a Hawaiian named Makaala (he's awesome and hilarious), my brother is older and is going to get married in the upcoming January, and the other sister is 2 years younger than me and has the most adorable little baby boy in the world (well he's tied for that position with Natasha's little Heath bar!!).
Where I have lived (I will do it in a chronological order): Denver Colorado, Souix City Iowa, Columbus Junction Iowa, Garden City Kansas, Brawley California, Ferndale Washington, Inver Grove Heights Minnesota, Tucson Arizona, Iowa City Iowa, and currently I am in Inver Grove Heights Minnesota!
Besides Las Vegas, my favorite city is Minneapolis.
My favorite weather is really sunny, no humidity, about 90 degrees or so. But I do love fall weather to go with the fall hollidays.
I love Bebe clothing, I LOVE shoes, I like purses that are either way small or way big, I love getting dressed up.
A couple of things I cannot live without are number one mascara, chapstick/lip gloss, and hairbrush.
My dream vacation is Fiji I think. I only say I think because thats what its been for the past 5 years or so, and now I am kind of thinking I may be dreaming of something else, but I still want to go to Fiji.
My favorite music is definitely country.
My favorite singers/bands are, number one ALAN JACKSON, then I love Sugarland, Reba McEntire, Taylor Swift, Brad Paisley, Garth Brooks, Big & Rich, among others. I love Jack Johnson. I like most of Elton John's music. I LOVE George Winston. Almost any song that has piano in it is a real hit in my book.
My favorite food I love eating pizza and ice cream. I love a lot of other foods as well, Chipotle is my all time favorite place to eat, well tied with Restaurante Yuma (its a taco stand in Mexico). My dad and I have been to the original Chipotle in Denver and we have also made special trips to Restaurante Yuma when we are within 6 hours of it. hahaha.
I really love to laugh, I will laugh at almost anything, mainly really simple corny things. That is also a good way to explain my jokes, which I think I laugh harder at than anyone I tell them to.
I can talk a heckuva lot! I used to be a really shy kid, but then I just turned into a talking machine. Well when I was a shy kid I talked a whole lot but only to my family. To best visualize it you should probably think of the little girl talking to her dad in the Volvo commercial where she's getting in the backseat of a Volvo SUV. Totally how I was.
I love taking pictures and looking at them. Its one of my favorite random things to do.
And last thing, I think I can almost classify as a work a holic. close.

Well, thats about it. So hopefully you enjoyed reading a little bit of information about me. :) until another posting...

ok, I just HAVE to note onto my last post, the Rock Band Commercial I was talking about has A-Rod, Kobe Bryant, Michael Phelps, and Tony Hawk. I was way off with Joe Mauer, definitely was my WISHFUL thinking!! :) but I still think its a funny one!
